Commutative Algebra
Objectives :
The aim of the School is to introduce mathematicians from developing
countries to some fundamental techniques and recent developments in
Commutative Algebra and to promote the collaboration between mathematicians
of different developing and developed countries.

Scientific program and lecturers: (abstracts)
The school will be divided into two parts. The first week (Jan 2-6) is a
school with 4 instructional courses on the following topics:
1. Cohen-Macaulayness in the associated graded rings of certain
m-primary ideals in a Noetherian local ring (S. Goto)
2. Using triangulated categories in commutative algebra (S.
Iyengar)
3. Lectures in Determinantal ideals (R. M. Miró-Roig)
4. Vertex cover Algebra's (N. V. Trung)
The second week (Jan 8-12) is devoted to an international conference.
Besides invited lectures on recent developments in Commutative Algebra,
there will be opportunities for mathematicians from developing countries to
present their research works.
Prerequisites:
The school and the conference are open to all mathematicians.
