CIMPA-CIMAT-UNESCO-MEXICO School

Vector Bundles

Objectives :
This school is an introduction to subjects of current interest related to vector bundles. The aim of the courses is to provide the necessary tools for conducting research in these areas. Each course will start with classical material and will take the audience to the frontier of research in the subject. Considering the wide range of topics that to be covered, the School will be directed at students and researchers in mathematics and physics interested in the subject. One of the aims of the school is to promote interaction between the participants and the experts.

Mini-Courses of 5 hours plus discussion sessions. There will be 30 minutes talks (by request).

27th November – 1st December:

  2. S. Ramanan (CMI,India)."Vector Bundles on algebraic curves".

  3. V. Balaji (CMI, India). "Principal Bundles".

  4. N Nitsure (TIFR, India). "Deformation Theory".

4th-8th December

  1. M. Lehn (University of Mainz, Germany). "Moduli spaces of sheaves."

  2. I. Grzegorczyk (University of Channel Islands, USA). "Brill-Noether Theory."

  3. O. García-Prada (CSIC, Spain). “Representations of surface groups and Higgs bundles”.

  4. U. Bruzzo (SISSA, Italy) and D. Hernández Ruiperez (University of Salamanca, Spain) "Fourier Mukai and Nahn Transform".

Prerequisites :
Familiarity with the basics of Groups, Complex Variable, Algebraic Topology and Differential Geometry will be assumed. Previous contact with Algebraic Geometry and Homological Algebra will be an advantage
