Cambridge-Africa scholarship
University of Cambridge
The programme is a working partnership between the University of Cambridge and several African universities and institutes, which supports the training of African doctoral and post-doctoral researchers. There will be five scholarships available for African fellows, who will be matched with leading Cambridge academics to collaborate on research projects. Fellows can also spend up to one year in their Cambridge mentor or collaborator’s research group or laboratory and attend lectures and courses when visiting Cambridge.

National health scholars programme PhD scholarships
South African Medical Research Council
The aim of the programme is to fund the education and training of 1,000 PhDs in health sciences over the next 10 years. The scholarship is equivalent to the after-tax level of pay of the applicant in terms of the public service professional scales, and is tax free.
