Report by Abdelmalek Azizi
Report by Michel Waldschmidt
For a long time, the Arithmetic, the Geometry and the Algebra have played and still play a great role in our life. The economic, social and cultural development of various civilizations was carried out thanks to the development of these three disciplines of Mathematics. Currently, electronic trade, transmissions, banking transactions, safety of the networks, safety of files and data bases, etc. are based on number theory, Geometry and Algebra through cryptography.
Cryptography is a much diversified field of research and has very significant industrial applications (smart cards, identity cards, biometric passport...). It is a field, among others, of application of the Theory of the Numbers, the Geometry and the Algebra.
For that, it is interesting to direct part of the activities of theoretical research of the Laboratories of Algebra, Theory of the Numbers and Geometry, from our countries towards research projects which have industrial applications like that of Cryptography.
